 Federal Investing Agency

Introduction:

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is a criminal investigation, Counter-intelligence and security agency under the control of the interior secretary of Pakistan. FIA is tasked with investigative operations against federal crimes, smuggling, terrorism as well as other crimes.

FIA also undertake International Operations with the coordination of Interpol. The main goal of FIA is to defend Pakistan. FIA formed their many special FIA teams for different special operations.

Departments of FIA:

FIA has 11 active departments to lead criminal activities and investigation :

• Anti-Corruption.
• Anti-human trafficking and smuggling.
• Counter-Terrorism.
• Economic Crimes.
• FIA Academy.
• Interpol.
• Electricity, Gas, Oil Anti Theft Unit.
• Immigration.
• National Response Center for Cyber Crimes.
• Intellectual Property Rights.
• Integrated Border Management System.

FIA is headed by Director General who is appointed by Prime Minister and confirmed by President. The agency has various field offices in all major cities of Pakistan. The Headquarters of FIA is in Islamabad.
